INFORMATION: LNG transportation accounts for some 10% to 30% of total LNG supply chain costs from upstream gas production through to terminalling and regasification on the import side. Both figuratively and physically it is central to the LNG supply chain and the safe, efficient execution of LNG supply contracts

This intensive 3 day course is designed to take participants through all of the commercial, technical, operating, legislative and legal issues affecting the marine transportation of LNG from export to import terminal. This is accomplished through a combination of presentations, exercises and case studies under the direction of a team of expert speakers with practical experience of the LNG industry and shipping. The aim is to give participants the ability to assess opportunities and manage operational and commercial risks in LNG shipping.

INFORMATION: The aims and objectives are to ensure participants understand the operations, safe working and commercial aspects of oil tanker and floating storage operations and to highlight the implications of such practices on the commercial performance of the vessel and the business of the organization. To provide comprehensive guidance on the pollution prevention precautions & procedures, safety of personnel and cargo with related maritime regulations to mitigate the risks to cargo, personnel and the environment.

This course covers cargo properties and hazards, oil tanker arrangements and equipment, oil tanker operations (e.g crude oil washing, distributed control systems, cargo loading/discharging, inert gas systems), flammability, fire awareness and static electricity, command and control firefighting, enclosed spaces procedures and precautions, pollution prevention and regulations, ship stability and ballast control, cargo documentation, commercial operations.

COURSE TITLE: A Practical Understanding of Commercial Risks in Laytime and Demurrage (TDL)

INFORMATION: Demurrage is a topic which generates a lot of heat. In real life it can be the cause of major disputes, achieving resolution can be very resource intensive and yet the cost of overlooking claims can be considerable.

The objectives of the course are to aid understanding of the commercial risks associated with laytime and demurrage in shipping and oil sales contracts, help minimise these commercial risks, clarify some of the more important issues and help improve the speed and efficiency of claims handling to the benefit of all concerned. Course content includes the essential elements of voyage charter parties, the choice of law, time bars, arbitration, dispute resolution, load port lay time, arrived ship, notice of readiness, discharge port lay time, pumping warranties, bad weather, lighterage, crude oil washing, document claims, FOB/CIF contracts, trading, pro-rating between cargoes, comparisons of different charter parties. The course includes numerous case studies to illustrate specific points.
